The next thing you want to do is check with all of your neighbors to see where your dog went. See if they saw your dog run by their home. Drive slowly around in your car. Check the busiest roads first because you don't want your pet to get hit by a car. Print out pictures of your pet and place them around town. Check your local humane society to see if anybody has brought your pet in. Never give up hope. If you have faith that you will find you pet than you surely will find him or her. Is there somewhere that your pet loves to go? Perhaps that creek behind your house?
Grab up the whole family and split up. The more people searching more areas, the better. Search until sunset and call the dog or cats name out loud. Leave water and food outside for your pet, preferable under some type of motion light to see if your animal returns to eat. Chances are that your animal got a smell of something and is outside investigating. These animals are great at surviving in the wild so do not become upset. Chances are that your animal will return within the next few hours. If your pet does not return it might be because a neighbor has found your pet and is trying to find you!
Call people that you know and have them keep an eye out for your pet. Don't give up searching. Don't think that if you wait at home your pet will return. There are possibilities that your dog is being kept somewhere such as a neighbors garage. Once you find your pet make sure that you remember to keep the pet inside or make sure the pet cannot get outside again. If you haven't found your pet, keep up the hope and I wish you the best. Remember that if you keep trying you will have a better chance and you will feel better about the whole situation. Just remember to keep on searching!
