What is Pico De Gallo?

Pure Writing
I would like to remind all of you fans out there that I write to inform people about my experiences of being Mexican in the U.S. I write to help people who are traveling to Mexico to be familiar with different types of food before they order when in Mexico on vacation. This next food article I would like to write about is called Pico de Gallo or Mexican food additive. I will explain what Pico de Gallo is and what are the ingredients in making this Mexican food additive.

Pico de Gallo is commonly known in about every Mexican restaurant in the U.S. Pico de Gallo is basically a side sprinkle of spicy vegetables to add to your tacos or hot Mexican stew. Pico de Gallo has it's on taste which is tangy and full of spicy flavor to give that dish a special taste. Pico de Gallo is usually served with tacos, and on Mexican Tortas which are Mexican sandwiches. I myself like Pico de Gallo to be added to my Mexican Tortas I eat in Mexico in Dolores Hidalgo Guanajuato, Mexico. Where I buy the Mexican Tortas is a special secret location which is in a old Mercado by the town square plaza. The Pico de Gallo makes the Mexican Tortas taste really great when eaten for lunch. I would suggest you try Pico de Gallo on your meals and it's very easy to make.

To make Pico de Gallo it's very easy to do, and I will discuss what the ingredients are in these next few sentences. To begin with the main ingredient in Pico de Gallo is diced fresh tomatoes, then diced onions is added to the mix along with diced cilantro and Jalapeno Peppers. After you have all this mixed in container you may add some salt, then the secret ingredient which is fresh squeezed limes to the mix. This dish can be enjoyed on many different foods, my family like to use it on Carne Asada or Mexican Bar-B-Que and the Mexican food flavor really comes out. I would suggest serving Pico de Gallo with different dishes for birthday parties or maybe a cookout. The reason lime is added to Pico de Gallo is to reduce the spicy flavor from the Jalapeno Peppers, but the lime also gives the tangy flavor to Pico de Gallo. Please leave comments on this article on how this food tasted.

I use a little olive oil in with the pico de gallo too. It adds a little extra "binding" to it and flavor. For less spicy pico de gallo, don't put any seeds in the mix from the tomatoes or jalapenos. It's great fresh!!
