What Price Israel and Oil?

Iran's Latest Threat of Military Retaliation

Betsy Ross
Yesterday, as reported on the U.S. main stream media, Iran engaged in testing some of it's long range missiles, one of which has the "capability" and range to be a potential threat to both U.S. military installations in the region, and also Israel. In this election year, the horns continue to be blown about the threat of a nuclear Iran, and if so it's potential to wipe out both the U.S. and Israel. Since evidence is scarce that Iran has either the resources or capability for truly developing one, nor the military might or knowledge to actually launch it, instead our media and politicians resort now to the weapon of mass destruction they do have, one long range missile.

At this point, what price and length are our politicians willing to go in order to continue this war for oil, and in defense of Israel it now appears? It appears again using the potential "destruction of Israel" card, Our military are expected not just to defend the U.S. at this point, but Israel also. I have wondered on occasion why, then, we have not officially made Israel the 51st state, or England another of it's principalities, since the U.S. and England after World War II made the momentous decision to create the nation of Israel for all the displaced European Jews after World War II. Having done so, we have also more than adequately armed them again at the U.S. citizens expense, and sacrificed a great deal of our own national security in the process. It is well know also, that there are a number of U.S./Israeli oil partnerships, however, we also have many military bases and installations between Iran and Israel, it would appear with the announcement yesterday, also more than adequately armed.

One of the presidential candidates had directly indicated in a past political speech his discomfort with Iran and it's weapons programs, and believes that a War with Iran just might be in his political future. So is the U.S. surprised that Iran might, no matter how insignificant it's demonstration might be in light of the military power and force of both the U.S. and Israel, respond in some way to such a threat? And, truly, is the threat of one long range missile against our own military might and that which we have provided Israel throughout the years since World War II truly a threat at all?

Given the magnitude of the U.S. defense programs, and nuclear weapons arsenal of both the U.S. and Israel's which we have provided, if the U.S. fears a nuclear Iran as a true threat to this nation or it's military installations abroad or Israel, seems as if the main stream media's sensationalist journalism and our political pundits with respect to this ongoing war and the Middle East situation, and excuses for it's continuance (absent Afghanistan, and the direct hit in tracking down bin Laden and those directly responsible for 9/11) has hit an all time low.
