Since Dora the Explorer show debuted into 2000, it has become a very popular TV show for children. It is known for its eccentric cast of friends that have won children's hearts all over the world. The charm that it possesses has gained them a lot of fans-children and adults alike. This show has the perfect blend of music that kids can sing along to. With a bit of adventure and education to keep kids interested, each episode develops kid's imagination and creativity. It also helps them learn new things-counting, singing, and a little bit of Spanish. There are several elements that draw children into the world of Dora the Explorer.

Probably the main reason why Dora the Explorer show is so popular among kids and their parents is the cast of characters. The most important character, Dora, is what every child wants in a hero. A brave and adventurous girl, Dora faces every adventure that comes her way. Her curiosity is what allows her to explore the world with her friends. She is loyal and kind to all her friends. What also makes this show unique is the fact that Dora is bilingual-she speaks both Spanish and English.

One of the characters, Boots, is Dora's best friend. He is a purple blue and yellow monkey who always wears large red boots. He is Dora's traveling companion and he goes with Dora on all of her trips. Boots is also known for his mischievous ways of entertaining.

Other members of the show include Backpack and Map. These are living things that help Dora on her adventures. Backpack is a purple bag who keeps all the things that Dora needs for her adventure. He dispenses all these things early in the show as he sings the Backpack Song. Like most of the characters, Backpack is also bilingual.

Another character, Map, is just as useful as Backpack. As his name implies, he provides a map to guide to Dora and her friends on their adventures. Map also has a song that he sings as he shows the map to everyone. Adults usually find these songs annoying, but for kids, it is perfect. They are able to sing along whenever Backpack or Map starts to sing. The villain in Dora the Explorer show is the fox named Swiper. He usually roams around, creating trouble for Dora and her friends, until Dora shows up to save the day.

That interactive element of the show is also what makes Dora the Explorer a hit among children. Dora usually asks some questions and allows her audience to answer. Sometimes, she also asks the audience for help. For instance, when she needs to get the rid of the Swiper the fox, she makes the audience say, "Swiper, No Swiping!" three times. Although the interaction is not that real, since children's answers do not really make a difference to the show, children still feel like they are a part of it. And this is what makes the children look forward to every episode of the best TV show for children-Dora the Explorer.
