What Can You Say, Things Change

Jacob Horn
I understand that life is about change. People change, places change, jobs change, everything changes. Two years ago my family moved from a town they had lived in for my entire life. They moved from a house that I had grown up in. My dad left his job at the high school where my wife and I graduated, a school that was very close to my heart. Despite the fact that they are now in a great situation, it was difficult to see everything you are familiar with thrown out the window.

I can still remember the first time I ever played fantasy sports. It was the late 90's and it was right here on the TSN site. Fantasy Sports was in its infancy. Most of us were probably not to sure what was going on but we knew right away that we loved this thing where we could buy professional players and their performance on the field affected how we did in our fantasy game. It allowed us normal folk to feel really close to a world that most of us will never get close too. I believe Fantasy Baseball was the first game I ever did on this site, or like I said any site for that matter. I remember back in those days (haha!) Fantasy Baseball consisted of a player and price. There was none of this extra stuff like we see today. Good times.

I am sure there has already been a lot written about this but I am just now getting to chime in. I was disappointed to hear that TSN will be closing down the Fantasy Sports section on their website. TSN never had the most unique games or the best prizes but you could always count on most of their games to be there year after year. TSN had the greatest College Football Fantasy Game of all time. It was very simple. Pick 4 offenses and 4 defenses. For some reason I absolutely loved it. I would get my College Football magazine in early August and start making notes regarding the schools I wanted. I am saddened to say that I will never get to play that game again, at least on this website. What can you say, things change.
