What to Say at a Wedding Toast

JR Smith
A wedding is a great moment for many couples. No matter how it ends in the end, the wedding is almost always looked upon as a long lasting, fun, memorable moment in the lives who participate. Usually what makes these events as such is the sharing of this intimate moment with family. These range from watching your drunken aunt hit on random strangers and the all important toast. This is the very critical point in the reception where someone such as the best man, maid of honor, the parents, or other family says a little something about the married couple. There are several topics that can be covered and in this article we will list a few of them.

The first suggestion is to talk about something that relates to the couples relationship. Preferably something that defines it as a whole. You can make reference to how well they work together or they complete each other. Sharing personal incites and observations of the couple in action are great way to go with this route.

Another strategy would be to make everyone laugh. Any funny stories about the couple or family could be appropriate if they are not blatantly offensive. Common family knowledge is a good beginning for comedy because then everyone will get the joke. Again any personal references about the couple would be welcomed in this situation.

To end a speech you could talk about the future for the couple. Speak about how they can last together forever or point out interesting traits that may cause funny moments in the relationship down the road. You could also allude to the fun times that will be had at the honeymoon and other events that will occur down the line.

These have been a couple suggestions for wedding speech material for your small but important moment at the reception. If you think about it beforehand and practice a little you shouldn't have to worry about it and knock their socks off.
