Perry Harvey Sr. Park has a small "snake run" that leads down into a bowl. This is a local downtown park open to the public, so anyone can practice there. Perry Harvey Sr Park is also free. It may be even especially a good place to practice if you are just a beginner. There are four humps, and a concrete lip. The whole course is cement, so make sure to bring your knee pads, unless you're hard core and willing the brave a fall.
Spot Skate Park of Tampa offers a more competitive edge. Competitions are held here. There is a small fee to be able to skate here. You can sign your child up for skate camp and you can even o rent the whole park out for parties. The skate park is enclosed in a warehouse, so make sure you stay hydrated and bring lots of water. Whether inside or outside in Tampa, it is hot. Spot Skate Park also has a freshly resurfaced vertical ramp with shadewall. This spot seems pretty popular because of the layout.
Desoto Skate Park is free to skate in. This is an outdoor skate park that requires pads to be worn. The material that you will be riding on is Skatelite. This park has a half pipe and quarter pipe, two transitions, and a pyramid. There are all types of course obstacles to try out your expertise, such as rail grinding and ramps. Also, if you get to hot there is a community pool close by to cool off in. Desoto Skate Park also offers events occasionally such as BMX and skateboarding contests.Check their website for more information on events.
Tampa Community Park seems like a skaters heaven. Although park entrance requires a small fee, it may be a reasonable price to pay for this park. Tampa Community Parks' course is made of concrete material and pads are required. This is an outside park also. The bowl is huge, and also the park offers nice pool coping. This skate park is jammed full of interesting obstacles. Rails, steps and slopes for all to ride.
With these parks to choose from no one should feel they do not have a place to skate or fit in. You can record your own action videos, take your own pro pictures and make a statement in the park of your choice. Always try to follow skater's etiquette at all the parks to ensure you will always be allowed back to further your skills to becoming a pro.
