What Are Spiritual Ethical Wills?

Write Your Spiritual Ethical Will

JB Robbins
As an adult you have so many responsibilities that it is impossible to list them all. However, one important responsibility that you have, at least when you have dependents or heirs to think about, is to draft your last will and testament. This document outlines how your legal assets are to be used after you pass away. While the process of writing a last will and testament is depressing, writing a spiritual ethical will is an uplifting experience that will reconnect you to your loved ones when they need the connection the most.

What Is an Ethical Will?

Spiritual ethical wills are not legal documents that deal with cash, real estate and tangible assets. Instead it is a philosophical document that deals with spiritual assets that you want to pass on to your heirs. Your ethical will will discuss your philosophies on life and provide guidance to the people you leave behind. This document will also help your heirs to understand how you felt about them and what you want them to do with their lives.

Starting a Family Tradition

One of the best aspects of an ethical will is that it can lead to the development of a very spiritually uplifting family tradition. If no one in your family has ever written an ethical will before you can start this tradition. To start the tradition all you have to do is put pen to paper and lead by example.

Writing an Ethical Will

You have a lot of options when it comes to writing an ethical will. You can keep things simple by composing an ethical letter, or you can create an elaborate ethical will that includes your autobiography, a family history and several creative literary entries. You also have the option of creating a creative ethical will that is simply a piece of poetry.

Learning How to Write an Ethical Will

If you have never written an ethical will before you have a lot of resources to work with if you know where to look. To start with you can use an ebook that is set up to guide you through the process or you can use a pre-existing ethical will as your guide. You can also just freehand your ethical will. To do this all you have to do is write a letter to a person you love. In this letter tell them what they mean to you, what you have learned about life and love and what you hope their future will hold.
