The National Retail Federation forecasts that there will be a 2.3% rise in 2010 for a total holiday shopping price tag of $447 billion spent. But at the same time, 81% of consumers surveyed have said that they will spend less this holiday because of the economy.

An extra Walmart bonus: on Thanksgiving Day 2010, if you bring a competitors' ad into your Walmart Superstore then Walmart will match the competitor's price of any identical product, but not for online items.
