What Stores Are Open on Thanksgiving Day 2010?
If You Have to Shop on Thanksgiving, Here Are the Open Stores
Many retailers have chosen to be open on Thanksgiving Day 2010 in an effort to try to attract as many shopper's dollars as possible this holiday shopping season. After the last two years of dismal spending for the holidays retailers are being as creative as possible, as early as possible, to get shoppers in the door and to spend more.
The National Retail Federation forecasts that there will be a 2.3% rise in 2010 for a total holiday shopping price tag of $447 billion spent. But at the same time, 81% of consumers surveyed have said that they will spend less this holiday because of the economy.
Walmart Supercenter stores will be open 24 hours on Thanksgiving Day 2010. Regular Walmart stores will open at midnight on Black Friday, November 26. An extra Walmart bonus: on Thanksgiving Day 2010, if you bring a competitors' ad into your Walmart Superstore then Walmart will match the competitor's price of any identical product, but not for online items.
For the first time in it's 124-year history, Sears will be opening their doors for business on Thanksgiving Day 2010. Sears stores will open at 7 a.m. until noon on Thursday. They re-open at 4 a.m. on Black Friday 2010 until 9 p.m.

Toys R Us is even opening for its huge toy sale at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day 2010, to get an early start on their Black Friday 2010 shopping event. Toys R Us is then open for 24 hours straight until 10 p.m. on Friday.
There are many additional stores that are planning to be open this Thanksgiving Day 2010, so just in case you do forget something for dinner, you have many choices.
