What Are Your Strengths and Weaknesses? - 1 Corinthians 12:21-25

Jason Budd
"What are you strengths and weakness?" is probably one of the hardest interview questions to answer. Maybe it's because it's an interview and you feel like you're only supposed to say good things about yourself.

But spiritually speaking, taking an honest opportunity to list your strengths and your weaknesses can be really beneficial.

We are all not good at everything, but we need to know what we're good at, so that we can do what we're good at. Here's a list of things we can do:

  • Teach a Bible class
  • Talk to someone struggling
  • Help with Communion
  • Lead a home bible study
  • Participate in a home bible study
  • Leading a prayer
  • Lead Singing
  • Write Cards
  • Send e-mails
  • Make food
  • Confession
  • Clean the building
  • Do work around the house for the elderly
  • Give rides to Bible Study and worship

All of these items can be both strengths and weaknesses. Unless it's activities that we need to be doing, don't focus on the things you're not good at. Just focus on the things that you can do, and bear fruit doing them.

"The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other" - 1 Corinthians 12:21-25 (NASB)

We all are different parts of this body, and we are all needed.

But sometimes there are weaknesses that we need to keep in mind, and those are in regard to sin. If you struggle with a certain sin, don't ignore it. Talk to a brother or sister about it and use them for accountability, prayer, and encouragement.

What are you strengths and weaknesses, and how are you using them?
