What a Stunt!

Flying High in Raytown

Lee Hansen

If you have a strong curiosity about stunt planes, here's an event for you to attend.

WHAT: Stunt Planes and Gliders

WHERE: Raytown Mid-Continent Library

LOCATION: 6131 Raytown Rd. in the Programming Room

WHEN: September 8, 2011 (Thursday)

TIME: 2:00 p.m.

ADMISSION: Free

REGISTRATION REQUIRED: 816-353-2052

GEARED FOR: Children 7 and up

FEATURING: Mad Science

Participants will learn the techniques of flight and aerodynamics

Participants will learn about the forces which are needed in flight: gravity, drag, lift and forward thrust. They will use these methods in designing their own personal construction paper planes.

Why not propel yourself to new heights and see just what is involved in flying a stunt plane? You're sure to be on a high once it's over.

If my grandkids were still there, I'd be flying in so we could go. Sounds fun and (shhh) educational.

Sounds interesting as well as fun. My Dad was an engineer for Piper aircraft for more than a decade so airplanes own a tiny place in my heart.

Looks like a great way to introduce airplanes and aerodynamics to kids. (Moms, watch your sons turn into pilots in an hour....) Raytown is where?
