Unfortunately, if liver cancer is found in the final stages it might be hard to fix especially if it has become metastatic. A liver transplant is usually the only way to survive. The final stage is usually the last stage. The following are the symptoms of final stage of liver cancer:
Cirrhosis
Cirrhosis of the liver is one of the final stages of liver cancer. Cirrhosis is a disease in which the functions of the liver can no longer function. Cirrhosis liver is usually found by having a biopsy done. The only thing to help it would be a liver transplant.
Jaundice
Jaundice is when the whites of the eyes and skin turn yellow because of high levels of bilirubin in the blood. Part of jaundice is the coloring of the skin. A person's skin will look very yellow in the final stages of liver cancer. The second part of jaundice to look for is the eyes. The eyes will turn from their usual white to a yellowish color.
Metastasized
This when liver cancer has spread, metastasized, to the other parts of the body. It can spread to the lungs, and make a person have a hard time breathing. It can spread to the pancreas and kidneys. It can even spread to the bones and other areas of the body.
Fever
A person can have a fever in the last stages of liver cancer. It is usually a very high fever.
Loss of Appetite
A person's stomach will be so upset they will no longer have an appetite. They also will have trouble keeping anything down. They will probably lose a lot of weight because of this.
Pain
Lots of pain will be in a person's body when they are in the final stages of liver cancer. Mainly the pain will be on the right side of the body if the cancer has not metastasized to the other areas of the body. The pain could be on the right shoulder, right behind the shoulder blade. The pain could also be on the right hand side of the stomach right below the person's rib cage. Pain is different for everyone in the final stages of liver cancer.
Sleep
Lastly a true sign of a person in the final stages of cancer is their sleep patterns. A person will be totally fatigued. They will tend to sleep most of the time. It is a sign that their body is shutting down.
