What to Take Into Consideration Before Getting Internet on Your Phone (pros and Cons)

Speed, Usability, Uses, Phone, Etc.

Before paying the money to get Internet on your phone, know everything you can about it! Just like in purchasing anything else, you should probably look into what you're buying before you do so.

Certain providers, like Sprint and Nextel, also offer many other deals when you purchase an Internet subscription for your mobile device. These are features like instant messaging, picture messaging, and data access, which is essentially Internet. Other providers allow only strictly the access of the Internet, you're going to want to make sure which features you're going to get with the Internet before you actually purchase it. Of course you can cancel at anytime, but if you don't have the money to waste right then, don't do it!

Another thing to really take into account when you get Internet on your phone, is how much you're actually going to use it. Having the Internet on your phone is actually really convenient, but beware that you may not get the full use out of the Internet just because you have unlimited access and it's on your phone. Internet on phones will almost always load slower than on a computer, and you're going to be quite limited as to what you can go to on your phone.

Make sure that your phone is really compatible with the Internet. Basically, the more expensive and new the phone, the more likely it is to perform quickly on the Internet. If you have a smart phone or black berry the Internet will run much faster on your phone than on others. If you have a really cheap, or old phone the Internet may run painfully slow due to memory and software complications.

I personally love having the Internet on my phone. There are many reasons why I should keep the Internet on my phone, however it might just not be for everyone. There are also several websites which make using my mobile phone and Internet much more easy and reliable.

Websites like Facebook that have a different mobile site with mobile features and what not really make having the Internet on your phone quite amazing. Through the use of mobile Internet, you can access Facebook, write on people's walls, change and check the status of others, and do just about anything you could do on Facebook while logged in on a computer. Not only that, but you can also upload pictures mobile from your phone that you took! The most convenient feature about Facebook Mobile in my opinion is the fact that many of your contacts are going to have their mobile numbers recorded on Facebook in their profile. Through the use of this, you can call people directly from Facebook! You can even send pictures to people through Facebook!

Websites like Google also have a ton of mobile Internet features. I think Myspace even has a mobile website that allows you to access it through a phone with higher speed than if you were to just access the basic page.

Having web on your phone also is really nice for getting new content for your phone. If you want a new image for your background simply get on the Internet and save one. You can also download just about anything else you want, so long as you know where to get it. This is one of the great ways that having web access on your phone can actually pay itself off.

However, just make sure that you're getting a lot of entertainment out of the Internet, for at least what it's worth. Make sure you're not just paying a large subscription fee to check your email once a month.

Ha, ha "more expensive and new" leaves me out. When I did not have Internet at home I tried my cell's web feature which was cumbersome. The screen is too small and my eyes are too bad for me to even want to check email when away from home.
