I always try a natural approach before I turn to a medication for relief. I exercise after dinner, I stop consuming coffee and sodas around 4 pm. If I am really restless I walk up and down the stairs fifteen to twenty times in the hopes of burning off the excess energy. I have tried reading before bed, trying to sleep in a very dark room. I bought an alarm clock with soothing nature sounds for at bedtime. I use a sleeping mask and I have tried drinking warm milk. Really none of these techniques have helped me to get to sleep on a regular basis.
Sometimes I do need a medication to achieve a good nights rest. I always rely on Tylenol PM when I know I need to rest as I haven't slept in days. I take 2 Tylenol PM and I am down and out for the night. I do worry about growing Dependant on sleeping pills, so I only allow myself two nights a week to take Tylenol PM.
Tylenol PM works pretty quickly, it soothes pain and offers you a cushion on which you can rest your weary head, so you can slip off into a beautiful land filled with dreams. Tylenol PM is effective and safe. When I take Tylenol PM I know I will drift off rather quickly and I will wake up feeling refreshed, happy and ready to get a grasp on my hectic day.
I have tried other sleep aids, such as Ambien, Unisom and several generic brands too. Ambien made me feel nervous, as I have heard so many horror stories about people walking and driving in their sleep, so I gave up on Ambien after 2 nights, despite the fact that I slept great.
Unisom did not make me sleepy. In fact the only effect it had on me was I got really silly, and I was still up all night long! Every generic sleep aid I took made me sleep too deeply, and I am always afraid of the worst case scenario. I was happy to return to my trusted sleeping buddy Tylenol PM.
If you have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep on occasion, give Tylenol PM a shot. If your sleep issues persist, consult your doctor as you may have a sleep disorder.
