What it Takes to Be a Really Fast Chacha Guide

If you don't know already, ChaCha is a human-powered search engine that can be used via text messaging (text questions to 242-242), calling (call 1-800-2242-242) or online (chacha.com). A question is submitted, and a guide will find the answer for the user. Now here is the cool part: You can sign on to become a guide and answer these questions. You get paid 10 cents a question for your first month, and 20 cents per question after that. It is totally legit (I've been doing it all summer long). Many people complain that they cannot answer enough questions to make it worth their while. I'm going to share some secrets that I use to average about $8.00/hr. This is great for college students, unemployed, or just to pick-up some extra cash for Christmas. here we go!

Know your browser: Chacha requires that you use Mozzila Firefox to submit answers. Mozzila has a great browser format that makes searching and typing EASY! here is a list of some quick Hot keys to speed things along. -(Ctrl+T)-this will pull up a new tab on your browser. You have to cite a source on a new page to answer questions. This is a quick way to pull up that new page. -(Ctrl+tab)-this switches to the next over. (Crtl+Shift+tab) will switch to the tab on the left. -(Ctrl+F)-it is surprising that so few people know about this. But to find a specific word on a page, use this hot key.

A bar will come up at the bottom of the browser to type in a word. It will then take you to that word on the page. this is great for looking up names, or cities on a big web page.-(Ctrl+C)-this will copy a highlighted selection.-(Ctrl+v)- this pastes the copy selection wherever your cursor is.-(Ctrl+X)-Deletes selected items.-There are many more, but these are the main ones to be used. Fill free to search more and post in comments.

Firefox also has a great add-on called clippings. Search for this add-ons on their homepage. This little device will allow you to save selected text so you can quickly add it some where. This is great in helping you add those ending to answers like "what else can ChaCha help you with?" with out typing it all out. Google Tool Bar The new Google tool bar is great, but there is one thing that you REALLY need on it. Once you download it, you can quickly pull up a search bar by pressing Ctrl twice. Once you press search it will pull up a new tab with your information.Know your Google. Google has many great features that help you get your answer through quick. When a customer asks "What does_____ mean?" simply type in to the google search bar "Define: _____" and it will give you the definition right off. They also do this with conversions, (i.e. "how many feet are in 3 meters?"), weather (just type "weather plus zip code), shopping, ect.

Google also provides a translation service for those "how do you say 'wheres my pencil' in Spanish?" questions. Keep your system running fast You want optimal performance to pull up your pages fast, and to submit query answer quickly. (assuming you're using windows) go to your Control Panel in the Start menu. Select Performance and Maintenance, and select Performance Options. There, you can deselected many of the 'extras' in order to make your system run a little faster. Also, while on your Chacha Dashboard, exit out of any other applications (like messenger, or other browsers.) Remember; nothing helps more than practice. After you get the hang of ChaCha and the ChaCha universe, you will notice an increase in performance. I hope this helps you make a little extra cash while ChaChaing. If you have any suggested tips that I missed, feel free to submit them. Enjoy!
