Lisa LaVergne
Toddler beds are essentially the same size as a crib. As a matter of fact, you usually can use your crib mattress as a mattress in a toddler bed. They are smaller than a twin size bed though. Toddler beds are simply beds for little people!

Some cribs will convert into toddler beds. However if you do not have this style crib you will have to find a toddler bed for your child to use. A very popular choice for toddler beds is the Jack Rabbit baby toddler bed. Jack Rabbit baby toddler beds are high quality toddler beds. There is however, a large selection of toddler beds by many different manufacturers to choose from.

Many toddler beds come in fun shapes that children love. The princess toddler bed has a headboard in the shape of a castle. There is a Dora toddler bed, decorated with images from the popular cartoon "Dora the Explorer." Little boys especially like the car toddler beds that come in the shape of a race car. You can even find toddler bunk beds if you have more than one toddler in the house. If you choose to use toddler bunk beds, you should seriously considering buying a set toddler bed rail to put on the top bunk. As a matter of fact, toddler bed rails are a good idea for any toddler bed if you fear your child rolling out of bed it its sleep.

For sleep overs, or trips away from home, you can consider getting a toddler air bed. Toddler inflatable mattress air beds are the same as adult size air beds, only in a childs size. These work great if you have young children that come and spend the night or can be used for your child should he/she go to sleep at someone else's house.

There are any plenty of bedding choices for toddler beds that you can choose from. Toddler bed bedding is usually sold where ever other childrens nursery accessories are sold. Most large retail stores also will sell these toddler bed sets of bedding. Once you find a bedding set that you like, it is usually a good idea to buy a few extra set of toddler bed sheets just as you would for any crib or even an adult bed. If you prefer, you can also just use the same bedding set that you used for your babies crib, since the mattresses and bed are essentially the same size as a crib anyway.
