What Are Tortas De Carnitas?

There are many ways you can make a Mexican Torta (Mexican Sandwich), but in this article I will write about my favorite Mexican Torta called a Torta de Carnitas. I personally have been eating Tortas de Carnitas for a very long time, but I usually eat them at least every two months because they are high in fats. In this article I will discuss what Tortas de Carnitas are and how they are made.

Tortas de Carnitas are basically a Mexican Sandwich that has vegetables and fried pork meat called carnitas. The taste Tortas de Carnitas have is very good and tasty, and the taste is unforgettable. I remember eating my first Torta de Carnitas when I was five years old in Mexico, and ever since then I been eating Tortas de Carnitas every other month. My favorite place to buy Tortas de Carnitas in Mexico is in a Mercado (grocery market place) in Dolores Hidalgo Guanajuato, Mexico and the Mercado is located by the town square and there is a Tortilla Factory inside the Mercado. And, where they sell Tortas de Carnitas is at a stand beside the street, and they have the freshest Tortas de Carnitas in town. I usually eat two when I eat there, because they are so good.

To make Tortas de Carnitas it requires a long process on the cooking part, because to cook the pork meat requires great skill and practice. The carnitas are usually chopped into small pieces which are eatable, and then they are added inside of the half cut Mexican Bollilo Bread which is a large heavy Mexican roll. Then the dressing is added which is Pico de Gallo (Mexican vegetables and lemon juice mix), then to top off the Torta de Carnitas chopped canned Jalapeno Peppers are added for flavoring. Then you are ready to eat with a nice cold Mexican soda. I usually eat my Torta de Carnitas with a nice Modelo Beer, because I think the beer lets all the flavor come out of the Torta de Carnitas.
