What Treats Are Ideal for Entertaining Your Dog

Johanna Swith
I have purchased my spoiled rotten dog almost every dog treat available on the market. I consider myself to be some what of an expert in this department, as rewarding and indulging my four legged best friend is something that makes me happy too. Before you shell out any of your hard earned cash on dog treats, read this multi product review article for insight on what will please your pooch and keep your four legged friend entertained.

My dog is a large breed, weighing about seventy pounds now, and he is still a baby. He tends to get upset whenever I leave, and I like to keep him entertained, as I wish to keep the peace with my neighbors. I thought Busy bones by Purina would be an ideal choice, when trying to keep my dog happy, busy and quiet while I am away. However to my dismay, a Purina Busy Bone keeps my puppy entertained for maybe five minutes. The Purina Busy Bone simply did not live up to my expectations. For the average dog, the Purina Busy Bone would probably be an ideal time consuming treat, but with my dog it did not stand a chance. At most retailers you can purchase a two pack for three dollars, and dogs do love the flavor of the Purina Busy Bone.

The best time consuming treat I have found is a combination of a treat and a toy. I purchased a Holy Roller, a rubber ball with holes, from my local Petsmart store. I place his treats, such as the Purina Busy Bone, Greenies XXL treats or maybe a pig ear inside of the Holy Roller. My dog has to work to get to his treat out, and it is fun for the dog to play with. The Holy Roller has been a fantastic tool for dealing with the separation anxiety that plagues my dog. When he notices I am loading up his Holy Roller with a favorite treat, I seriously believe my dog feels happy that I am leaving, what can I say? He is food motivated as many dogs are. The Holy Roller is a must have product for the pet owner who wishes to occupy the dog. The Rubber the Holy Roller is constructed with is durable, the treats last longer, and are more fun when combined with the Holy Roller. It is well worth the ten dollar price tag. The Holy Roller combined with treats is also a fantastic distraction when you have company. Especially if your dog is overly friendly, making it difficult for you to keep the dog away from your guests. I would recommend this treat concealing toy to any dog owner.

The Purina Busy Bone dental dog treats have been making many dogs very sick. I absolutely do not recommend feeding these to your dog! Check out: http://hubpages.com/hub/Purina_Busy_Bone_Dental_Dog_Treat, and view the comments at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for the great reviews. We had the same experience with Busy Bones, they just go way too quickly. We've been using Kong toys stuffed with peanut butter and treats, which seem to last a couple of hours at least. I'll have to try the Holy Roller, that sounds pretty cool!
