What Valdosta Has to Offer People at Moody Air Force Base
Neighborhood: Moody Air Force Base
Valdosta, GA 31605
United States of America
Moody AFB was named in memory of Maj. George Putnam Moody, an early Air Force pioneer killed in May 1941. It is set near a south Georgia town with a lot to offer. As with any town near a military installation, Valdosta, Georgia blooms with the business Air Force personnel and families gives it.

There is a mall in Valdosta that isn't very big but has what you need. Large department chains such as Sears, Belk and JC Penny. As well as other store chains like Waldenbooks, Spencer's, Hot Topic, Kay Jewelers and more. There is a small food court with ice cream specialty stores, subway and five restaurants in the mall. Attached to the mall is Old Navy, Office Depot and Petsmart.

In the mall area is a large Best Buy, Books-A-Million, Tractor Supply, TJ Maxx and Michael's. There is also a large and very nice 16 screen theatre across from the mall. Surrounding the mall area which could be considered the center of Valdosta, are 100's of specialty shops. Anything you could think you need, you could find it in Valdosta.

There are two Super Wal-Marts in Valdosta, one on each side. Both are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They have everything you need plus a fully stocked grocery side. Wal-Mart is one of the most well known chain stores out there. Next to one Super Wal-Mart is a Sam's Club.

As for food, anything your heart desires is available! Fast food chains and restaurants of any type of food. Mexican, American, Italian, anything you want! Throughout Valdosta there are several of the same eating places available. That means you don't have to drive far to find something. Along with the well known chains there are several wonderful restaurants that are family owned.

Driving through Valdosta can be a bit difficult at first, because some roads just end and some are one way. But it is very easy to get used to. It is only a 10 minute drive to Valdosta from Moody AFB. This is very convenient for people one base.

There is also Valdosta State University in Valdosta. This also helps the revenue to the city. Classes are available for people wanting to further their education. It is a short drive from Moody if people are interested in attending.

Because of the base and the college, there are a ton of different apartment complexes available. Rent ranges from $300 to $2000 a month. You can find different types of apartments or houses in a very close drive from the base.

There are several stores around to find work in the area. The cost of living is lower here, but so is the wage. But don't be discourages, not everyone makes minimum wage!

Valdosta is a nice town with a lot to offer. It is small, but in a good way.
