What Do You Value?

Americans Are Getting Greedy

We have to be grateful for where we're at. We can't sit and complain constantly, or zip it and focus on what's good in our lives. Also, we need to have a healthy view of the world. What do we think of this world. Is it a candy store to go in, get our hearts desire, and put it on our card? Or do we owe God tithes and offerings? Do you believe in the Bible or do you just pick and chose what you believe.

In the Old Testament, it says the first ten percent goes to the Lord and we are to bring offerings to the Lord as well. As well as save ten percent. He says to test him in this and he will bless us. But why are we so unlikely to give God ten percent? The Jews were supposed to, and they're known for making a lot of money. Or at least some of them. But why do only a minority of Christians tithe? Is it because it is in the Old Testament. Or is it because most Christians believe the church is corrupt? Or is it because they don't trust in God? Or is it because the church doesn't have slick advertising like Big Tobacco?

Just curious. Because most people believe in a God. Whether it is Christmas Card Jesus, or an angry, fire and brimstone God. But we cannot love both God and money. Let us remember how corruption is caused by a love of money. We need to stand strong in our faith and trust in a Higher Power and give to receive. If you hold tight onto your money, you cannot open your hand to receive more.

We have to show we are grateful for what we are given. We must take care of our health and eat right and exercise and rest on the Sabbath and show thanks for our daily bread and other blessings. Our loving families, our wonderful friends, our loved ones and our spouses. We are to love people, sharing our wallets, not our bodies. And only then, when we do this in joy, will we see blessings come forth.

God talks more about money than he does Heaven and Hell. That is a sore topic with a lot of people. They never seem to have enough because they are inundated with advertising that they need the latest gizmo or Gucci handbag.

We should love the Lord and be less discontent with what we make. Sure, a teacher could make more somewhere else, but we need teachers. As well as policemen and soldiers. So before you go glorifying Donald Trump, I suggest you question your values.

  • We are to titne 10% and save 10%
  • We are a nation of spenders.
  • We are brainwashed by the media.
More people see hundreds of commercials every year than tithe.
