What is War For?

Enjoy

LarrWayne Po
A war is started by the first punch,
Or subtle move,
But why?
The desire to covet more
Than what is earned,
Causes many a battle cry.

The first war
Started by a serpent,
Launched with a lie.

Did he want Eve
For his to hold?
The story doesn't tell,
But a spell was cast,
Drastically imposing
Change for everyone else.

The second war came
When jealous Cain
Let an ego brain reign.

Control of the hour
May require the devouring
Of opponents in the play.
The enemy wants all
Of your prized possessions,
And to win every game.

A war cannot continue
Without an opponent,
So who wants to fight back?

Lay your stick down
And don't throw a rock;
Please the robbers asks.

Not I, nor I, nor I,
Say those that might qualify
As fit to be king.
What would King David think
Of those that flee
And leave their wives
And children behind
For the enemy,
And say,
Enjoy.

There are the seen wars, and the unseen ones in the heavenlies. How little we mortals know or understand. rcj
