What was Beyonce Thinking? Little Girls Wearing Big Girl Styles

Anonymous Brandy
Singer Beyoncé Knowles was behind the creation of the new House of Dereon little girl's clothing line. In my opinion, although the clothing is not extremely revealing, it is very edgy for a kindergarten age child to be wearing. Some parents may feel the clothing to be inappropriate. I agree.

In my opinion, not only is the clothing inappropriate, but the ads that introduced the clothing line were inappropriate as well. In fact they were absolutely offensive.

These ads featured little girls wearing high heeled boots and stilettos. They had very heavy make up on their faces, such as lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, and mascara. These little girls looked as though they were tiny adult women getting ready for a night of prostitution. Not to mention the over exaggerated make up, they all were standing in a provocative manner as well.

I found this whole scene to be completely disgusting. What decent parent would find this look acceptable? Why should little girls in kindergarten be consumed about their appearance in such a way? High heels on the feet of a 5 year old? What was Beyoncé thinking?

I feel that introducing this type of style and attitude to your little girl would be a horrible decision. Although it may seem "cute" for your little girl to look like a little "diva", you have to remember that she is not some doll to play dress up with. She is a child and learning from everything in her environment. It is up to the parents to filter out the bad and influence with good.

In my opinion, this clothing line is probably one of those bad things that should be filtered. Even though she may be your princess, she is only 5. Let her be a kid. Why should she be pushed into adulthood by wearing adult clothes and make up. Is she trying to attract a mate? Isn't that why women throw on the high heels and make up? Besides ladies, even with years of experience, walking in high heels can be difficult and painful at times. Do you really want your baby walking around in something that can potentially harm them?

In addition to all of the above, this ad could also attract pedophiles. What could be better to a pedophile who preys on small children, but a pretty 5 year old girl wearing adult women's styles of clothing and make up? Why would a parent want to draw attention to their daughter in such a way?

I feel that it would be much less expensive and far less ignorant to go out and purchase something educational for your daughter instead of buying any clothing from this line.
