Your bullets can fire at you in the form of a health calamity, an accident, a burning building or a natural disaster. But, you survived unscathed or at least alive and are left to wonder at the miracle of it all. Some folks refer to these as "near death" experiences but I prefer to think of these incidences as dodging bullets.
For those of us who wonder about these bullet experiences we are left to ponder why the bullet whizzed on by. It could have ended differently. There are so many questions but here are a few suggestions to help you avoid the bullets that life will fire away at you. I have conveniently bulleted them for you (every pun intended):
* Don't forget to duck. Sometimes a curveball comes flying your way, ducking will help.
* Avoid "extreme" anything - too far left or too far right will take you off a cliff and sometimes it's better to just stand still and enjoy the view.
* Focus on the positive even when it's all negative.
* Never give up even though at times you might have to give in.
* Remember that eventually a bullet will hit the target but if you keep your shields up it will only dent your armor. Brush yourself off and keep going.
* There is a period at the end of every sentence and an end to every life. The period is the final bullet - make sure you finish the sentence before the period leaves it's mark. The finale will not include final edits.
Dodge as many bullets as you can, give thanks in all circumstances for the ones that miss you and remember that in the end, every life tells a story. So, feel free to share yours - what bullets have you dodged?

Post a Comment'Spose maybe James referred to dodged bullets when he wrote that patience through trials leads to endurance? James 1:2-4 NASB (My food for thought instigated by your food for thought.) Have a good day.
Excellent read!
I enjoyed this one. Thanks!
This is great, Michele, thanks!
I've been told many times by doctors that I was probably going to die or that I "should" have died - but I haven't died yet, lol! My life is in God's Hands and when I've finished my work here, I'll go home to Him. Works for me! (Sorry I haven't been around much. My current "bullet" has been my heart. Four hospitalizations and procedures in eight months. Kept me busy!)
What a thought provoking topic. I have dodged many and maybe will write about some.
Back for a reread and just had to say "Well Done!"
reminds me of the proverb " a cuse without a cause will not land."
ok then drinking bleach at 3yr, blood poisioning twice, twice hit by car while on my bike, ruptured appindix, ruptured spleen, electrocuted a few times, toxic exposure, a girl name R...., maybe I should just write my own article about being thankful for God's mercy. thanks for jump start.
Good article well written good way to make us start thinking what we should be thankful for Laura Everly
Boy you really got everybody out here thinking about all the bullets we've dodged in our lives, myself included. And I like the positive points you make. Stuff to think about.
