Obama has been a senator for a whole 4 years. He has no foreign policy experience. Yet he has managed to write two memoirs and no actual legislation. Oh wait, there was that bill that he put his name on but did not actually write. This is frightening to me, that this man with no experience will be leading us into the worst economic crises in our history. I want to know what he is going to do besides bring us this so called " change", which none of us know what it means. Especially with his recent cabinet picks, Hillary is back in power and a large portion of the Clinton staff is also back in the White House. That doesn't look like a positive change to me.
Conservatives like myself, are on the edge of our seats counting down the days until Obama takes office. Although, we may all be proven wrong, he may turn out to be a good president. However, with a liberal record and the title of being the most liberal senator in congress, most of us can see through the smoke and mirrors. We may be headed towards socialism. This is the worst case scenario of course, but with his liberal ideas regarding taking care of everyone, and "spreading the wealth around" we should all be watching over our shoulders.
I am not alone in my concerns for what will happen over the next four years once he takes his place as commander in chief. I am not against him being president and hope for the sake of argument that he will even prove me wrong in my conservative views. With the promises that he has made to all Americans I have to wonder what will become of this country. What will become of our health care and our economy and our jobs?
Many conservatives speculate that we will be forced into a recession, one of the worst that this country has faced in the history of our nation. Yet Obama has no clear plan about how he will correct this. He has been vague and mentioned that he will balance the budget and create jobs. Well even if he is planning to nationalize a work force program such as FDR did, that will take a minimum of a year to create. Nothing will happen over night as he has promised, only recently did he back track and say that it will take time. That is of course unless he decides that he will abuse his power to write executive orders from the oval office. Only time will tell what is going to happen, but we are certainly going to find out who Obama is along the way.
The other concern that many people have is that they do not know who this man is. After all the liberal media has been rooting from him since day 1. They have written far more negative stories about the conservative candidate John McCain than Obama. This was by no means fair. The one who controls the media can control the people and Obama is the media's darling. We will see how this plays out as time passes and more of our freedoms and rights become diminished and even restricted.
The problem that we faced during this election is that people were so blinded by their hatred for President Bush, that they completely ignored the issues at hand. The scariest part is that this was by far the most important election we have faced in a long time. Yet the turnout was by more 18-29 year olds than in any other election. A poll conducted by Fox News showed that this age group was not concerned with the issues but their number one concern was prices. I want to know how the President has any impact on all the prices, unless we are truly on the path to becoming a Socialist State.
One thing is certain with all the flaunting he has done in regards to his health care program for the uninsured; if his term ends in four years and we still don't have health care people will not be pleased. This rings true for jobs and the economy as well. I do understand why people voted for him, but at the same time I don't think that people realize that as a county we have elected a man who has ties to terrorism and has had many shady dealings with people like Rezko and Ayers. However, people have ignored his dangerous affiliations and now we will all pay the price for it. It is also frightening that Obama supports Palestine, and not Israel.
Another thing that blew my mind about this election was his views on abortion. I guess no one got the memo about his radical ideals concerning partial birth abortion. This is a travesty against human life but Obama clearly doesn't feel that the woman who wanted an abortion should be bothered with a child who lives after a botched abortion procedure.
Lastly, I advise that Obama should take great care in making promises to anyone about anything. The expectations at this point and for the future are so high, that at this point that he is almost destined for failure if he does not make good on those promises. Especially since at one point he promised that we would all see tax cuts, and even refunds in the form of checks, yet this past week he has changed his mind to allowing for tax credits not refunds.
