Suddenly, everything that were declined and denied before this; right from farm lands, schools, associations, temples, you just name it seemed possible and willing now from the ruling Barisan. Illegal farmlands were given a 30 years lease extension by whom else but the hypocrites UMNO's President Abdullah and MCA's President Ong Kah Teng. Recently, even hard hitting Deputy UMNO President Najib toned down to admit that Selangor State Government's haste to demolish an Indian Temple before Deepavali last year was a mistake indeed and tendered his personal apology, how unprecedented in Malaysian/UMNO history. Chinese schools previously closed down by force were to be reopened, or considered reopen. Allocations were pouring in to Chinese and Indian medium schools as if Santa was in town in advance. Ministers have promised to visit Chiese Assembly halls with millions ringgit of donations.
To normal laymen, it seemed that the Government have finally been considerate and listen to the rakyat's woes after all. But the question is why all these disillusioned acts every time and time again before elections? After which with a mere change in ministerial portfolios and change of chief ministers; all would be back to square one again. Wait for another 5 years-lah my friends!
But I guess why blamed the Barisan liars when we openly wanted to accept their empty promises? Personally I have voted 4 times to date but the Barisan liars had never failed in their attempts with such political terrorist tactics.
In the early 80s, roads and drainage systems would be upgraded and rectify and that was all it took to win those electorates. In the 90s, opposition parties were subjected to the worst treatments possible by ISA detentions and controlled press to be subdued in elections. Today, it seems that money indeed makes the world go round, don't they?
Guys, whose money?
Nobody else's but our very own.Why applause the ruling government who gives us ( back ) our moneys entrusted to them? Isn't that their original responsibility to be our caretaker?
To UMNO grassroots, weren't these signs of an extremely weak leadership in Abdullah; the sleeping beauty premier? Weakness signs where MCA, MIC could take advantage of?
Or maybe to others, was these signs that the UMNO led Barisan have run out of ideas to pacify and satisfy the people on the streets?
Or, the so called opposition pack and NGOs are in their elements now as compared to before?
Neither, these were the mental evolutions resulted from the forced unjust, biased, racist administrations employed and deployed thus far that even the common laymen on the streets could not bare any longer! Isn't it time for a change?
Many voters today were once youths; highly educated, some graduated from foreign universities that they had been so exposed to the real world of democracy and transparency. They were not those born yesterday guys that you could easily 'buy over'!
As Malaysians, we expect more than that! We would take whatever money, allocations, donations poured in before and after election. On top of that we expect a just and transparent administration for the betterment of our future.
No more temporary sweet lip services and empty promises but results and written commitments or we rather risk change!
After all we have waited in vain all these while, for a just and transparent government, haven't we?
For a start, I wished that the ruling Barisan, for once give us a written commitment; via amendment to the constitution if they have to before they should be given another term to run our beloved nation-Malaysia!
