Our flag, represents the lives that were given, to secure our freedoms. We have all heard of Francis Scott Key, but it seems that the story behind his writing of the "Star Spangled Banner," has been forgotten or ignored.
To honor anyone other than a high ranking official or fallen soldier, by flying the flag at half mast/staff is an abuse of our nations flag, and an insult to the lives of many, who have died, for all Americans, past and present times.
We are in a time of WAR, whether acknowledged or not. Why aren't we honoring the brave men and women of the Military, and keep the American Flag at half-staff, every day, until this WAR is over? Our soldiers are dying every day . . . at every glance, our flag should remind us all of those who serve.
