What to Wear: 2011 Fashion Trends
What Hot and What's Not?
I put much research into this and as I was reading pages and pages of new trends this is what I came up with:
Color
Honeysuckle is the color of 2011. It can be worn for casual and formal occasions and it's not limited to spring and summer. The way to wear it is either against white or all on its own. It pairs well with black, so if you have black pants pair it with this hot and womanly pink color for more sophisticated or professional look.
Pants
Skinny jeans are here to stay. They will be very popular and "IN" for 2011 and for few more seasons to come.
What better weekend look than pair of skinny jeans and some pink blouse.
Leggings And Not Jeggings
Leggings will be huge for this year as well, but not jeggings those pants that fit like leggings -they are out!
We see more and more women wearing leggings with big tunics, tucked into boots, with the short skirts like you saw in this past spring and summer. Be aware that leggings are not pants and your bottoms should be covered and not exposed.
If the leggings are popular and trendy so are tunics...they will be big for this year!
Patterns
We saw a lot of patterns in 2010, well sorry to say but they will be out for 2011. However floral and animal prints are "IN" and will be very trendy this year.
Velvet
I can't believe that velvet will be so popular this year. Don't get me wrong I love this smooth on touch fabric, but it is not so flattering for all women. Velvety pants, and leggings will be "IN" as well as fur vests will be popular along with leather jackets worn with skinny jeans. I can see animal protection activist on the rise if this trend stay with real fur vests.
Shoes and boots ...we can't get enough of footwear!
Ankle boots are so cute and trendy for this year too. So are knee-high and over-the-knee boots. The only boot that's not is the peep-toe booties.
Heels or flats-both will be popular. Anything with color on your feet will be really trendy.
And for comfy UGGs? UGGs in the spring and summer are not proper footwear. Maybe in winter time, but any other season, it is big no-no!
What is defiantly "NOT IN" this year are sweat suits.
You can still see girls and women wearing them all around streets and shopping malls. Please, take them off and throw it in the trash, because there is nothing flattering nor chic when we see words on your bottom behind!
Never like them and I am so glad that they are "OUT" this year!
