So you are preparing for your new baby to arrive and you are wondering what all you really need. In this guide, you will find things that you really need to have before the arrival of your little one. Some of these things you may already have, but if you don't have anything yet, this guide will definitely help you. So, let's get started on the things you really need before the baby comes.
Lotion & Shampoo
Lotion and shampoo is a must. You must have these two to wash your baby and keep your baby's skin soft. Usually you can buy kits that has baby powder, shampoo, body wash and lotion in it from places like Wal-Mart.
Baby Towels & Wash Cloths
You will also need special towels and wash cloths for your newborn. Your newborn can't take the roughness of our towels and wash cloths, so you will need to buy the baby some baby towels and wash cloths. You don't need many, maybe four of each. Then you can wash them every three or four days to have them clean again.
Place for Baby to Sleep
You will also need a place for your baby to sleep unless they are going to sleep with you, which is a bad habit to start. But some moms feel safer if the baby is in the bed with them. If your baby is not sleeping with you, you will need to buy a crib, playpen, bassinet or something that your baby will be comfortable sleeping in.
Carseat
You will also need a carseat for your baby to ride in. There are many different types of carseats to choose from, so you can select the type you like. Make sure they are good carseats and do your homework before buying one by reading reviews online.
Blankets
Blankets is another must. You can never have too many blankets when you have a newborn. Often times they will spit up or their diaper will leak and you will have to grab for a blanket. So, get as many blankets as you can afford.
Diapers & Wipes
You also need diaper and wipes. I know that is common sense, but it is best to have these stocked up before you go into labor so you do not have to worry about it when you get home with your new baby.
Bottles
You will also need bottles. There are many types of bottles to choose from, so you will have to do your research and see which one you want to use. You will need small bottles to start off with and then larger bottles once the baby gets older.
Clothes
And last, but not least, you will need clothes for the baby. If you don't know the gender of the baby yet, go with unisex sleepers and onesies. This is the best way to buy clothes for your baby if you don't yet know the gender. If you do know the gender, then you can go ahead and buy some outfits. Don't go too crazy though because your baby will grow fast and you will have to buy larger size clothes.
