What Will You Be Doing for Christmas?

I Am Sharing Some Things I Will Be Doing This Year for Christmas

Mrs.Rogers
This year like most, I will have the Christmas Eve get together with my family and a brother in law and a Step-mother in law, along with her daughter.

This year like every other for the last four years, we will met at my brother in laws house around 6:00 in the evening on Chritmas Eve. I will of course be bringing some type of food and will be bringing gifts as well. My children will be anticipating all the gifts they will be receiving as will I. Every year my brother in law fixes a nice meal, and we all gather around the eating tabla and give thanks, and eat. We also share with each other all the news from times past.

Like many families we are all laid back and we have a nice time catching up as well as stuffing our faces. We will the enjoy some wonderful dessert and then retire into the living room area.

Here the children will more than likely picking out their presents from name tags that are visible and the adults will act like we are not concerned to see what the other have brought for them. Suggestions on how to pass out the gits, or who should go first will start. All the women will take turns, looking and serving the presents out. Then we will take time opening gifts, but the children will run through them like a "freight train". We will also talk about why and what we got others as they are opening up our gifts. Sometimes we also make gingerbread houses, out of cookies and candy, usually from a kit.

The children will pick at the candy, frosting and all the decorations, until they notice, there is not much to be used. They will run around the living room, playing with their things that were given to them. Sometimes, the adults are required to put together something or insert batteries, or fix something. The men usually assemble things, while the women clean up or organize the area. Picking up bows to be saved or throwing wrapping paper away, is what the women are good at. If it were left to men, the bows and all would be thrown away, as well.

Smells of coffee and food, and even gingerbread will feel the air around my brother-in-law's place. Christmas tree with flashing lights will be lit and all a glow. There will be a slight Christmas carol playing in the background.

Smiles on everyone's face, laughing and sharing. It will be like all Christmas's, wonderful;.

Christmas day will come next morning and the children will awaken quite early, as they do each year. Adults will scramble to look presentable, for cameras and all. The adults will put on some coffee, nibble at left overs, from the night before. The children will be noticing their stockings and all their goodies.

Each one taking a look under or around the Christmas tree. Adults will either hand out or give the signal, and all the gifts will not have a chance.

Wrapping paper will be piling up and the gifts will need opening, or assembling. Batteries will be placed in the things that need them. All the while the adults are giving thanks for their own gift exchange.

Lots of laughing and excitement.

As soon as it came, it will go. Christmas will be remembered by each and everyone, till next time it comes around. My family will enjoy and cherish each and every minute.

I hope you and yours does as well. Merry Christmas and God Bless You.
