What Will My Legacy Be?

This is What I Ask Myself Every Once in a While. This is What Makes Me Who I Am

CB
The beginning........

I ask myself now and again-

What will my legacy be?

What will the world think of me?

When I am no longer here.

When there's nothing to fear.

========================

What will I leave behind?

Did I make you laugh 'cause I'm so wild?

Or, do you think of me as a silly child?

Did I help a wandering soul?

Or perhaps, help someone reach his goal?

========================

I do think of this and hope-

when I need to move on,

and have to say so-long,

At least you smile knowing,

I was with you, but now I'm going.

========================

I ask myself now and again-

What will my legacy be?

When there is nothing to fear.

What will the world think of me?

What will the world think of me?...

========================

Note for everyone: This poem is for everyone I am privileged enough to meet in my life. Even the ones who cause me immense pain. (Not to sound like a Saint. LOL) But the fact is- without that pain, I won't know what happiness is.

I try hard to make people smile- especially after a very dark phase in my life. I use those silly LOLs and those silly emotes when I communicate with you all, as that really does mean I am smiling. I hope you smile with me too.

    Great piece. It really seems to come from the heart. 'Where your heart is, that is where you'll also find your treasure'. (I know I misquoted this, but in essence, it's my belief.)
