What Would Hillary Clinton Being the First Female President in the United States Mean?

Could Hillary Clinton Be Just What America Needs?

Stephanie Manning
If Hillary Clinton wins the 2008 Presidential Election she will be the first female President in America's History. While Republicans are against her because she is a Democrat, there are other reasons that some Americans are not voting for her. A lot has to do with the fact that she is female. It seems as if America is not ready for a female President. While the citizens are not ready could the governmental aspect be? America needs a female in office. Even if it's not Hillary Clinton, America needs a chance to have female in office.

What does having Hillary Clinton being the next President of America mean? It means that women will receive more respect. Those who are still stuck in the 19th century can hopefully step forward into the new ages and see that women deserve just as many rights and respect as men. While the times are coming around and we are getting close to that, there are still dimensions that women aren't included in. For example, Presidential Elections.

Hillary Clinton getting Office would be great for women around the World. It would instill another level of self worthiness. It would allow for young girls and women to have higher goals, higher dreams and a higher level of respect.

If Hillary Clinton was to become the first female President there's no telling what would happen next. There would be higher female Sheriff rates, higher female astronaut rates, along with all the other things that are particularly geared towards men. Hillary Clinton would open the doors for millions of women for hundreds of years to come. There's no doubt that you would see many more women in the future elections.

While many citizens who prefer to have society as it was in the 'old days', it doesn't leave many options for women. America has allowed women to step up and vote, now it's time to allow women to be voted for!

While many people may or may not want Hillary as a President because she is a Democrat, they need to take in to view would it could lead for to for women. More rights, more power. After all, she ran the United States once before when Bill was in office. He was just her spokesman and carried the title of President!

Hillary Clinton could be the first female to change the look on women in the United States and across the World!

This was a well-written article! I have to say that, personally, I don't see her as a great representative for women.

Who will make the better puppet?
Money rules be it male or female.

Good article. If my vote were to go to Hillary though, it would not be because she was a woman. Very interesting read, I enjoyed it!

I like your optimism for women and opportunities, but I have to disagree about Hillary. In fact, I had a littl efun with this subject recently: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/434548/the_big_chillary_a_slogan_in_verse.html

A vote for Hillary also means our first First Man in the White House. Sad to say that Bill is not only a liar but a crook. Many of the Clinton's scandals got downplayed and judges have been bought to win charges against them. If she were Martha Stewart she would be in jail, not running for the highest office in the government. People need to get over gender and start doing some hard research. Bill's impeachment was not completed, but I think it dangerous to have a disgraced ex-Pres as First Man in the White House. We also need to end the Bush/Clinton monarchy that began with Reagen/Bush.

Many Iraqi men forced to choose to join an army after their jobs were destroyed, often choose to go build the new luxury Palm Islands. Their pay was withheld and if they quit the job, due to hard labor and not getting paid, they lost all the money they earned. Hillary for President simply means more government corruption and loss of democracy for citizens. She believes the government has to make choices for citizens and the government has to lie to us. Our country is supposed to be "of, for and by the people" so any candidate, such as Hillary, that seeks power to rule and control is not for me. Cynthia McKinney would make a good women President, but she is not running this year.

I do not know anyone that is not supporting Hillary because she is a woman; I do know several who are supporting her simply because she is female. The best reason to have a female as head of state is qualities of compassion and empathy. Hillary has zero of that; she cares little for the Iraqi mother that watched her babies and children's bodies being blown apart by US bombs in our illegal invasion of the country. Her husband, like Bush's family and Cheney are involved with the building up of Dubai as a rich tourist area.

Interesting take, but perhaps missing the big picture. It's more important to stop the neo-con machine than to elect a person based on gender. I thinh Hillary is a good choice because she is moderate enough to govern to the center while more progressive policies can be worked for. In your article you talk about Hillary opening doors for women here and around the world..newsflash...the rest of the developed world already acknowledges the fact that a woman can lead as well as a man. And Rachel, don't be so naive. a president doens't "pass legislation" per se, but has a great deal of power in determining it.

I found this very well-written. I don't think all of this would happen, but it was a good piece nevertheless. I hope people will elect Hillary Clinton for her strenghts and not just her gender if she is elected--which I hope does happen, because I really admire her.
