The preaching I grew up with
The lectures you do give
Are basically the same to me; I do reclaim
All aspects of my day as they may seem
Continually every thing I do, the result is the same
Nothing is good enough for you, no praise I redeem
Every word between us we have spoken lately
There you wait with anticipation; debate me
You always have the wisdom you're eager to say
That I handled it wrong, should've done this way
Next time "you do this" or "you do that"
Crazy I become with feeling a dingbat
Not everyone is just like you
Nor will they live as you do
You can't control this lioness cat
My ways are to remain. You adapt
As much as I know in your heart is my interest
Just sit back, relax, and listen, with you I share myself
Our relationship should be savored; entrust
Not trying to change who I am, Doctor of my health
Sometimes I just want my voice to be heard
Not informed of what's in my best regard
You might not realize what it's like when you try
Always to construct me in your likeness
The perfect woman you try to create; wonder why?
Nothing then would be to share, complete quietness
A relationship with nothing to accomplish or learn
A relationship pointlessly, no passion to burn
The lectures you do give
Are basically the same to me; I do reclaim
All aspects of my day as they may seem
Continually every thing I do, the result is the same
Nothing is good enough for you, no praise I redeem
Every word between us we have spoken lately
There you wait with anticipation; debate me
You always have the wisdom you're eager to say
That I handled it wrong, should've done this way
Next time "you do this" or "you do that"
Crazy I become with feeling a dingbat
Not everyone is just like you
Nor will they live as you do
You can't control this lioness cat
My ways are to remain. You adapt
As much as I know in your heart is my interest
Just sit back, relax, and listen, with you I share myself
Our relationship should be savored; entrust
Not trying to change who I am, Doctor of my health
Sometimes I just want my voice to be heard
Not informed of what's in my best regard
You might not realize what it's like when you try
Always to construct me in your likeness
The perfect woman you try to create; wonder why?
Nothing then would be to share, complete quietness
A relationship with nothing to accomplish or learn
A relationship pointlessly, no passion to burn
Isn't that reason enough why you should accept me
Let your guard down, let me learn, and let me be
Just to keep the flame lit, passion alive
Opposites attract, thus we thrive
