What Do You Write About when You Have No Ideas?

Here is a Way to Overcome Some of Those Writer's Cramps

I am sure many content producers here at Associated Content will be happy to know they are not the only ones who draw a blank when they are trying to think of their next article to write. Here in this article, I will show you my secret online places to give you ideas about current and upcoming events to write about and to make more money per article at Associated Content.

Is there a place online where you can find out what is happening in the online world at that very moment ? If you had an up to date place to see what people were searching for it would help to know what may be popular in the next few days or weeks. There is such a place online and it is called "Google Hot trends". They show fifty or more of the most-searched terms in the last day, including the last few hours. They even provide a graph to show you how much volume ( as in amount of searches ) that term has had in the past few hours also. It is like having your own personal window on the internet. You can peer into Google Trends and see what people are searching for. If you need the web address, just clear the address bar on your browser and type in "trends dot google dot com" and then hit the enter button. Click on the " Hot Trends " link, and you will have arrived.

As you may have guessed, if Google has such a place Yahoo also has one very similar. I like the Google one better, because of the graph showing the volume of searches. Yahoo has what they call the "buzz". They will show you what topics have been getting the most searches for the last week or more, including that day. You can achieve the same thing with Yahoo buzz as you can with Google Hot trends, but you have to work a bit harder. The web address for Yahoo's buzz is "buzz dot yahoo dot com" and then hit the enter button.

I scored a direct hit with one of my articles on "the Jena Six" a few weeks ago. I found the topic at the Google Trends site, and wondered just what "Jena Six " meant. Well, it was a very enlightening experience to say the least. I knew it would get plenty of attention if I wrote about it, plus I am interested in and like to write about such topics. I think I have gotten over a thousand hits on the Jena Six article, with plenty of comments on it also. Some people were even mad about the way I wrote it ! Anyway, I say that to say this; you can do the same as I did. Use the popular topics from Google Trends, choose one that you are fairly sure ( you never know ) will be popular for a few weeks, and you should have your idea for your next article for Associated Content. Your performance bonus may just hit the roof.

I also picked a winner using the Google Hot trends site for my article on the EEstore Ultracapacitor. This article has attracted plenty of extra hits since I wrote about it, plus the technological aspect fascinated me. It is really great to be able to get an education on a topic, as you investigate it online, and get paid at the same time.

One other place to get ideas, without the popular aspect, is to use the idea machine at tdbspecialprojects dot com. You can use their flash program to get some rather wild ideas. Let the internet give you your ideas about what to write about when you do not have any.
