Learn How to Write on Topics of Interest

After publishing an article either in print or in a web page, one feels thrilled - naturally. Then comes the pang .. what to write and continue to write. One may have the urge to write something impulsively, just to keep the habit of writing. But do the readers really or take these articles seriously? It is a matter of guess-work. So, how to make certain the articles one intends to publish catches readers' attention? There are certain golden rules, which if followed, will surely yield the desired results.

Subject and the target audience: Once you have chosen a subject to write on, consider who the intended readers are - like, for instance - regional, national or global. This often plays a vital role in the end result. For, no global or for that matter even national attention will be on when what one has written pertains to a specific locality.

On the other hand, if the news item or article can catch the attention at national or global levels, contributing it at regional levels will also leave a sense of dissatisfaction like an unfinished dinner or a dinner without dessert.

Humor or matter-of-fact reporting? If the news item or article one writes require facts, just plain facts, then write simply stating the facts without exaggerating. However, if one can add a tinge of humor associated with the news one is reporting, then it is more likely to catch readers' interest.

However, one needs to exercise caution when he or she makes a reference to any person. Check the facts. Do not present anything which may lead to libel suits or action, however harmless or humorous one tries to be.

Finally, the choice of "subject": It is difficult to define. And there lies the problem. And precisely why I am writing this or blabbering because I do not have anything worthwhile to write about. Ha ha ha ...
