If you or your partner are ready to start having children, there are some things you should know when it comes to increasing your chances of pregnancy that may help you to become parents sooner. You should find out all you can about pregnancy and childbirth both before and during the conception process, and these tips could help you to have a health baby in less time than you think.

One of the first things you'll want to do when you're trying for a baby is to take care of your health. High stress levels, poor eating habits, and high alcohol use will make the conception process much more frustrating, and you will definitely lessen your chances of having a baby, no matter your age. Studies have shown that smoking lowers the sperm count in men, and women who experience significant amounts of stress have a hard time becoming pregnant. Women who experience depression are also twice as likely to go through infertility problems. Reducing your caffeine intake will also help you to get pregnant quicker. So, limit your wine intake to one glass at dinner, cut out that cup of coffee in the morning (try caffeine free tea instead) try to quit smoking, eat all-natural foods if possible, and exercise regularly so that you will feel better and condition your body for the process of creating and housing a baby.

You should also make sure that you pay attention to the times that you're having intercouse when you're looking to get pregnant-your ovulation schedule will tell you when you're most fertile. Every woman's ovulation calendar is different, so be sure to talk to your doctor to find out which days during the month you are more likely to conceive. For instance, if your cycle begins the second week of every month, the first week of the moonth will probably be when you are most fertile. Men should also wear boxers instead of briefs during this time, in order to have a healthy sperm count. Studies have also proven that heat can be damaging to sperm, so men are advised to take cold showers in order to increase the blood flow in the testicle area.

It is important for both partners to make sure that germs are significantly reduced in the house. The slightest cold or virus could prolong the fertilization process for both men and women, so be sure to carry hand sanitizer with you, and take plenty of vitamin C as soon as you feel a runny nose coming on. You should also limit your exposure to harmful chemcials in the environment such as lead, paint, pesticides, and some inks, so eating organic may be ideal during this time.

If you have been trying for more than a year to conceive, you should talk to your doctor about a variety of treatment options that could assist you and your partner in the conception process. Continue to practice healthy habits during your visits as well, so that you can get results soon. Good luck!
