If you think you may be missing out on other great cars that are going at live auctions, you may be mistaken. A lot of auction dealers have decided to go both ways, allowing bidders online and off to compete for the same car, or placing their cars solely online for selling. It's definitely the new wave in car buying and it's not likely to go away any time soon. In these cases, if you find a local auction, you may still be able to check out the car before buying it, giving you the added peace of mind. You don't have to since a lot of online auctions offer history reports on the cars they're selling or at least the vehicle ID so you can look up the history if you wanted. This is a must before car buying! You should always know what kind of car you're getting; don't just rely on the picture or an exaggerated sales pitch.
You could search in any popular search engines and come up with several results for online auto auctions, but which should you pick? They all have positive propaganda shouting at you from the screen. The easiest solution to this problem is to join an auction site. Instead of wearing yourself thin across all sorts of websites, why not have all the resources you need in one place? Now, these do usually come with a fee to join, but think of what you're getting in return for a few bucks: auction listings (online or live), car listings, history reports, and bidding all at the same place. You might buy your car from a private owner instead, but the car will still be listed there. There are some really great car bargain sites online, and if you do some research you'll soon discover how easy and affordable a nice used car can be.
