What's Your Gene? Is it Learned or Choice?

There's talk about a Christian gene by gay scientists who believe it is learned and therefore hard to get rid of. This may be true in many cases. However, this is unlike your physical genetic makeup, because it is only a matter of thought. A thought you are used to and agree with by your own decision. Therefore, you must take full responsibility for what you do or say. Moreover, it doesn't matter what your background is or how you were raised. There are ways society has created to help you get past those hang ups and learn how to participate in normality. For example, lessons can be taught through example or making you an example. Sometimes it will be fair, and other times it will not be. Nevertheless, we are all in this world together and have to learn to tolerate one another. Unless you want to start a Utopian society for hermits. Here are some definitions of some types of genes to help explain how some of us may look to others.

True Christians

These individuals are known to set themselves apart from anything that does not go along with God and the Bible. In fact, they would not be caught drinking, smoking, being promiscuous, dancing, cursing, fighting, gossiping, wearing immodest clothing, listening to the average music, going to concert to non Christian music, participating in adultery, stealing, murdering, e.t.c. Some are strict when it comes to television programs or friends to associate with. Other true Christians are more lenient with the activities to make more interesting without offending God. They love to give, help and be just like Jesus as a choice.

The Church Folk

They are good at appearing to be holy by participating in every event, pushing their children into it, and showing up regularly. However, they have a dark side to them that sets them apart from the true meaning of being a Christian. To put it in two words PRIDE and PREJUDICE. The pride come from their personal success and accumulation of worldly assets bestowed upon them by God. Their lives are basically trial free to the point where they become quite puffed up. These type of church goers tend to keep in certain cliques of other well-to-do's. Together they will gossip about others even to the pastor and his wife. They will have private get-together leaving certain others out. In addition, if they know something that can help another member of the church they will either do it wrong or not tell the person about it. This is due to the fact that they do not like the person for different reasons they heard or just a feeling. Insults are known to fly frequent and easily from their mouths. If they have use for you they may talk to you then, pay you less than what they should or not at all. Another practice is walking past you pretending that they do not see you, or turning their back once they see your face in case YOU want to be sociable. They may smile at your misfortune which makes them feel more loved by God, or try to hurt someone you love by offering to help them. No one is perfect, but one doesn't't have to go too far with hating someone.

The Permanent Visitor

These are people who come to church whenever they feel like it. I guess it is for the entertainment and the nourishment's after the sermon. They come to hear about God thinking that is all you need. There are no mending of worldly ways except to acknowledge that they are sinners.This is a good first step, but there are more steps to take to be a true Christian. There have been people who came to church during a tent meeting, and got baptized only to leave soon after. Every now and then you will see this person who hears the truth, but is too wrapped up in the world to give their hearts to God. It is like enjoying worldly pleasures, and telling God this is too good to leave for you. People who do not have a foundation in religious thinking would find it rather strict and dull without fun. This brings me to the next culture of people.

The Worldly

The most natural no holds barred, free for all party until the end of time life right? No rules, do what you want to do at all times, no one telling you what to do. Be as selfish as you want to be, and take everything you want. Lie. Cheat. Steal to your hearts desire. Start a riot or war by insulting people. Make dog, cock and people fight over the nothing you started. You can even hurt people, and get others to join you. Wow! What a life. Oh, I almost forgot having as many lovers, take someone else's as you want in a lifetime. Get married ten or more times,and beat your spouse. Sell poison to people for money they don't have and watch them die. Dress provocatively all the time, make dirty or racy jokes. Curse like a bleeping sailor on television, radio and in the street. Then look back and be proud for breaking all the ten commandments. Are't you so happy getting out of control and not paying for it? Is this what you want? Is everything Zen? People who gets a fix whether it be food, drugs, alcohol, sex, fitness training, shopping, making money, getting piercing and tattoos as long as it is addicting. Don't forget to do as many toilet jokes as possible. Let's all get wild and have Mardi gras every day! Millions of meet-ups an hour! In the word's of Prince " Le't go crazy/ let's get nuts/look for the purple banana til they put us in the truck/ let's go"! Don't bath, or do your hair. Paint your hair a million different colors, get alot of tattoos, and piercings. This is what scares christian or conservative people away. They think that worldly people would most likely do all of those things that are considered wild, and uncooth behavior.

The Realists

These people are not what anyone would call religious in any way. They don't even attend church. What is different about them is that they participate in worldly fun, but they still have values. It is possible for a person to agree with the ten commandments and other truths in the Bible by living it. They perhaps never read the Bible, but they would not do anything that would hurt anyone just for fun. They take life seriously, and won't sleep around. They would be hurt if they are cheated on, and would not cheat on anyone else. They are monogamous, and well kept. They do drink a couple beers on the weekends with friends, and may smoke. They would help a person when they are down without prejudice. They are in the world, but keeps themselves under control.They have premarital sex, but not with everyone.

These quick observations were created by a certain number of people who actually live like that. It is like a stereotype where all people of an ethnic group, social class, or culture are considered to be equal. Each of us probably know of people who fit into each category. These categories helps us choose who to associate with, and who to ignore.
