What's the Healthiest Dessert on the Ruby Tuesday Dessert Menu?

Kristie Leong M.D.
It's rare to find a dessert on a restaurant menu that's even marginally "good for you", but the Ruby Tuesday dessert menu has one guilt-free option you can indulge in without a hint of eater's remorse.

By far, the healthiest Ruby Tuesday dessert is the Berry Good Yogurt Parfait, a tasty blend of yogurt, blackberry topping with a light spattering of granola on top. It's the perfect combination of sweet and fruity to top off a meal without being heavy - or making you too heavy.

Nutritional Information on the Berry Good Yogurt Parfait

Some Ruby Tuesday dessert options like the Italian cream cake boasts a whopping 990 calories. It's an easy way to blow half a day's worth of calories with a dessert that takes less than 15 minutes to eat.

The Ruby Tuesday Berry Good Yogurt Parfait will set you back only 162 calories and 26 grams of carbohydrates. It's perfect if you're watching your fat intake since it has only 3 grams of it. To top it off, it's also fairly low in sodium with only 127 milligrams per serving. Plus, you get the health benefits of the calcium and protein in the yogurt and the antioxidants and vitamin C in the blackberries. The yogurt adds to the carb load, but the extra touch of crunch makes it filling and satisfying. A sweet deal!

Ruby Tuesday Dessert Menu: What to Avoid

Ruby Tuesday dessert options that won't be so friendly to your waistline include the double chocolate cake (902 calories), the New York Cheesecake (736 calories) and the Blondie brownie for one (630 calories).

If yogurt isn't your thing and you're in for a splurge, try the red velvet cupcake (285 calories) or a carrot cake cupcake (325 calories). They have almost twice the sugar and calories, but they're less unhealthy than the majority of restaurant desserts.

Ruby Tuesday also offers white chocolate macadamia nut and chocolate chip cookies, which have around 180 and 200 calories each. Split a cookie with your dinner companion, and you'll get a taste of chocolate without a lot of calories.

The Bottom Line?

The Ruby Tuesday dessert menu has some landmines to avoid, but you can't go wrong ordering the Ruby Tuesday Berry Good Yogurt Parfait.

I honestly love the guilty desserts, especially the cheesecake.
