These are the questions that I think every American has been asking for quite a while now. So what is your opinion on it? I thought that, and I think most Americans thought, after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center that we should be at war; we should be fighting; we should send out troops there and bring this terror to an end. It seems though that after almost seven years, we would be done. I do applaud the military on the finding, capturing, and execution of Saddam. One obstacle accomplished, but I am not too sure what Iraq had to do with the terrorist attacks. It seems like we should have been finding, capturing, and executing Bin Laden, but for some reason we were not. I do believe now that President George W. Bush is on this mission now. So, should we be there? When I went to vote in 2004, the reasoning that I had for my vote was, "He got us into this mess; he needs to get us out. He needs to finish the job he started". It sure is taking a long time though.
Should we be there? My answer: Yes. Should we have been out by now though? My answer: Yes. I do believe that President Bush does have some alternative motives for being in Iraq instead of putting forth all of this power to finding Bin Laden. I also believe that his motives are for good. If he would not have taken down Saddam, I think that he could have become similar to the next Hitler, or he would have funded the next Hitler, possibly Iran's Nuclear Weapons. I also find it interesting though that hardly any other country has joined in the fight. Why is this? I have no clue! That, I guess, is something that we will find out once Bush is no longer in office. I think that the public will find out a lot once Bush is out of the office, and it may not actually be all negative.
What are we doing there? Well the first question that I ask when I asked myself this question is "where is there". Are we talking about Iraq or are we talking about Afghanistan? As I have said earlier, I think that Bush did a fine job in ridding the world of Saddam; shouldn't we be done in Iraq then? Let us move on! It is time to go after the real culprit: Bin Laden. He is the one who challenged our freedom, who tore down our towers, and we put fear into the eyes of Americans every time we see him on the news. Now that I have said that, it needs to be done in a timely manner, not another seven years. Not even another four or five years. This I think should be accomplished by 2010. Two and a half years. That seems reasonable, right? I guess time will only tell.
Should we pull our troops out or should we send in more troops? This question is kind of ambiguous because first of all you need to have money to be able to do either of these tasks. The government is in so much debt right now, it is stupid. I read Donald Trumps "The America We Deserve" and I was floored at how easily he could put in place a plan that would WORK! Why can't any other president put a plan of action together like this GREAT plan that Mr. Trump has suggested? We need to fix home first before we can fix our neighbor. There are too many issues these days, and I just thought an interesting thought:
What if we took all of the immigrants who are coming into the United States illegally, sign them up for the military, send them out to do the job that our boys are dying for, and when they come back from doing their duty to be part of this great land of freedom, then they could get citizenship for the time that they put forward for this country. Sounds pretty good to me!
