What's Up with ITune's Prices?

How Can ITunes Get Away with Charging so Much when There Are Cheaper Alternatives?

Eric Thomas
Hello, all you iPod lovers out there. Is the invention of the ipod not the greatest thing ever? I mean, I use my ipod every day of my life and truly wonder how I ever got by without it! Currently, I have over 5000 songs and videos uploaded and it still blows my mind that it can store all that in one little device. Also, this little baby holds a ton of pictures too. I love all the features in it! I haven't tried the Podcast yet, but I will soon. But enough about the marvels of modern technology, and on to something that's been bugging me about iPod + iTunes.

Did you ever notice how ridiculously expensive the songs are on iTunes? If you're like me, I'm sure you have. Come on, .99 cents per song? I don't know about anyone's financial situation other than mine, but that's a little steep. Simple math tells me that if I would have gotten all my iPod music from iTunes, I would have spent near $5000 on music! Uh, not happening!

So, after trying a couple sites that allow users to download media to their iPods, I came across one that I feel is an absolute STEAL! In addition to music they offer, they also make available TV shows, sports, DVD quality movies (including some new releases), music videos and ripping software. So basically, a wide variety of media that you can upload to your iPod. I said to myself, "sounds too good to be true". Well, in short, it wasn't. They delivered the goods as advertised and I've since stopped my search for a good ipod download site. Here are a few other features that I enjoyed about this site:

1. Video Tutorials - Everyone knows how much of a pain it is to upload to your ipod when first using new software. These tutorials make it a snap!

2. Free Spyware Cleaner - When I signed up, there was an option for a free spyware program that I received and it helped my computer to clean out some of the crap that slowed it down. I thought that was a nice little bonus to toss in.

3. No Monthly Fees - I LOVE this part. You have the option to pay monthly fee which range from $1.49 per month to 2.49 per month, but if you don't want, you can pay a 1 TIME membership fee that gives you unlimited access for $39.99!

There are close to 800,000 users now and growing. Why does this matter to me? Well, to have that many members, they must be doing something right. Also, there is a 60 day satisfaction agreement so if you aren't happy with the service, just cancel and get your money back. Try this site out, and you won't be disappointed! You have nothing to lose! Just do a search for "my ipod downloads" or click the link attached to this article. Thanks for looking!

  • iPod + iTunes is overpriced when compared to other music services
  • Millions of iPod users still use iTunes as their primary source of music
Did you know? iTunes charges .99 cents per song and full length albums could cost upwards of $15.
