Whats it like After Graduating?

I graduated early and found myself doing small time jobs for nearby companies who paid reasonably well. I moved from one job profession to another and from experience I can say that this was not the best option. I suggest anyone who is just graduating start early after your graduation thinking what it is you want to do. Once you have decided what you want to do then spend some time studying what you need to do to or where you may need to go to get in that field.

One easy way to get an idea of what you should look into is to go to a community college and take the Compass Test immediately after graduating possibly even before you graduate. This test can help you get an idea of what your strengths and weaknesses are and what your interest seems to push you towards in terms of a career. this test can be useful as more then just an admissions test.

The next step may be to talk to a Career Counselor and see what jobs are available on the bulletins. After all, this is what you spent all your time working towards right? Another this to try is to go to a work force office and see what is available in that field of interest that you seem to be most suited for. To believe that a job is just waiting for you would be fool hardy how ever there is a chance that one just opened up

I can tell you from experience you want to be thinking about this now and not later. The older you get the less promising your prospects will look. And real life work isn't the same as your homework. Although some Colleges may give you study hours through internships. You won't have anyone to hold your hand at your new job.

Now might be a good time to go home if you where going to college abroad. After all it's been a while since you've been back for an extended stay. Your parents will surely be happy to see you return. Don't you miss your moms home made casserole?

By now your Career Counselor should have given you enough information to help you start finding a job with a complete resume and even may have lead you to the region with the most jobs in that field. This is good information but what if you don't want to live in Alaska? I mean it's so cold there... Well just because most of the jobs are up there doesn't mean you have to go there. Look down the list and find a warm place or just stay with your parents till something opens up in your home town it's up to you.

Remain dedicated to your goals and good luck in your future ventures. As this is "the beginning of the rest of your life" and you want to get a good start.
