What's Next for the Cast of Lost?

At the Emmys a few nights ago Lost fans hoped their favorite television show of the past six years would bring home some farewell awards but the show went into retirement without a whimper as it was clear that shows like Mad Men, Modern Family and Glee are now on top of the television world. The only thing Lost fans have to look forward to now is seeing their favorite actors continue their careers elsewhere.

As the lead character of Lost and one of the most known actors on the show to begin with, Matthew Fox should not have a problem finding work. There has been a lot of talk of Matthew Fox starring in a trilogy of movies based on the extremely popular Mass Effect video game series. Hopefully casting Matthew Fox would be the first step in making a video game adaptation that won't totally suck but then again, I said the same thing about "The Rock" Duane Johnson and Doom.

NBC saw the pilot of their Rockford Files reboot starring Dermot Mulroney and did us all a favor and pulled the plug. NBC hasn't given up on the Rockford Files idea though; they're just looking for the right actor. Rumors are that Josh Holloway could be the man to replace James Garner. Rebooting a classic like Rockford Files is not a good idea but Josh Holloway in the lead would be worth at least giving it a chance.

A reboot that is not a rumor is the new Hawaii-Five-O show starting this fall. Daniel Dae Kim will be featured in Hawaii-Five-O as Detective Chin Ho Kelly. If the reboot is anything like the original than Dae Kim figures to be a vital part of the show. In the original Hawaii Five-0 the Chin Ho character was in 241 episodes.

Some Lost fans were worried when Evangeline Lilly said she was going to take a break from acting but Lilly is already filming a new movie called Real Steel. Real Steel is a science fiction movie starring Hugh Jackman about a father and son that enter the world of robotic boxing, a popular sport in the future. In addition to Lilly, Real Steel will also feature Kevin Durand who also appeared on Lost as Keamy.

Dominic Monaghan's first post-Lost adventure, Flash Forward, has already been cancelled but Monaghan has a movie hitting screens in February. The movie is called Soldiers of Fortune and is about a group of millionaires that pay a large fee to take part in realistic military adventures but the adventure goes horribly wrong. Soldiers of Fortune also stars Sean Bean, Christian Slater and Ving Rhames.

After starring on Lost for several seasons it is easy to imagine that the actors might want to take it slow for a while but since Harold Perrineau has been off the show for some time he seems to be working a lot. Perrineau's upcoming films include The Hungry Rabbit Jumps starring Nicolas Cage, January Jones and Guy Pearce, Transit starring Jim Caviezel, James Frain and Diora Baird and Cooler starring Jim Parsons.

Both Maggie Grace and Adewale Akiuoye-Agbaje will appear in the new Duane Johnson action movie, Faster, being released in November. Maggie Grace also has a movie with Guy Pearce (Lock Out) and a comedy called Relative Insanity coming up. Akinnuoye-Agbaje also has an action thriller starring Jason Statham, Robert De Niro, Clive Owen and Yvonne Strahovski called The Killer Elite as well as The Thing starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Eric Christian Olsen and Pirates!

Elizabeth Mitchell and Ian Somerhalder both moved on to new television shows last year and will continue in the 2010-2011 season. Somerhalder stars in the CW's Vampire Diaries and Elizabeth Mitchell will continue her role on ABC's V.

Other upcoming Lost parts include Nestor Carbonell appearing with Andy Garcia and Eva Longoria Parker in Cristiada, a film about the Cristeros War and rebellion against the Mexican government in the 1920's. Sonya Walger is in the film The Factory starring John Cusack and Mae Whitman. Titus Welliver will appear in Ben Affleck's The Town and will likely reprise his role of Glenn Childs in the second season of The Good Wife.
