What's New at Progressive Field for 2010

Sandy Mitchell
Spring is the time of new beginnings, and in Cleveland that means a new baseball season. The Cleveland Indians' home opener was on April 12, 2010, just the first of scores of baseball games to enjoy this year at Progressive Field. The 43,515-seat ballpark, which opened in 1994, continues to upgrade its services and offerings for spectators. Below are just a few of the new features for the 2010 season.

New Food

Among the new concessions at the ballpark for 2010 are Popcorn, Beef and Beer, a stand that offers gourmet popcorn, beer and hot roast-beef sandwiches; Fried Delights, which offers fried Twinkies, fried cookie dough and other fried treats; and Chicken Tender Basket, offering chicken tender basket meals.

Value Pricing

Budweiser Two for Tuesday Packages: On select Tuesdays, fans can purchase two bleacher seats and $20 in food and beverage credits for just $32.

WKYC Summer Sundays: For every adult ticket purchased for select Sunday games in June, July and August, families can purchase two kids tickets to the same game for $3 each.

All You Can Eat Seats: For $32, fans can enjoy an upper deck seat along the first baseline as well as unlimited hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, nachos and soft drinks.

Promotion Nights

Promotion nights for 2010 include 12 fireworks nights, three bobblehead doll giveaways (Grady Sizemore, Slider and Kenny Lofton), six "dollar dogs" days (when hot dogs are $1), and three cap giveaway games.

New Texting Opportunities

Cell phone fans will love the new interactive options in 2010. Fans will be able to enter contests, send messages, vote and even request ballpark photographers to come to individual seats. In addition, fans will be able to communicate with ballpark operations staff about such things as fan annoyance, emergencies, wheelchair requests and ballpark repair needs.

New Ticket Packages

Value pricing returns for 2010, with the best seats in the house offered at a 50-percent discount for select games in April and May. In addition, fans qualify for season ticket holder discounts (20 percent) with the purchase of as few as 20 games. The new Indians Tickets Plus program gives ticket holders $10 to use toward food and merchandise purchased at the ballpark for selected games. The amount is loaded onto the bar code on the ticket stub.
