What's in Your Vessel?

A Rewrite of Capital One's Slogan

Mike Oberg
We are like vessels
We have an inside and an outside
Our inside begins as a void
And we can choose what we put inside

If we fill it with material objects
They will very soon go
But peace, faith, and love
Will make it overflow

When life squeezes us
And we start to doubt
What we have inside our vessel
Determines what comes out

If we've chosen only things outside
To fill the void within
We will find that we are empty
When the challenges begin

But if we've filled ourselves
With things that are the best
We find we have the strength
To survive every test!
