What's Wrong with Mayor Hannemann?

SB
Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann formally announced Thursday his bid for the race of gubernatorial seat for the State of Hawaii.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with his dream to move up from his current post. In the first place, dreaming is free and everyone is entitled to it. But, what I don't agree with Mayor Hannemann is talking disadvantages of his opponents over his, especially on fellow democrats, former Cong. Neil Abercrombie.

Coming from Hannemann's own words, he won't be resigning from his post until the last day, or the deadline to file. So, technically he's not on board yet. Another thing, maybe he had forgotten that he is still employed as Mayor of the county of Honolulu; he's still under the payroll, which means he shouldn't be wasting his hours campaigning and talking about his dreams and his edge over his opponents instead of doing his job.

The Honolulu Mayor chose to maximize his days, then he should give us, the people of Honolulu what he ought to, and that is no less than100 of his undivided attentions for this county and its people.

I think it's fair enough that he was given a chance to announce his plans and it should just stop from there. No more, no less! He should have reserve those words until the day he's ready to step down as Mayor and file his candidacy.

He may have the experience in the executive post, but, shouldn't he be curious as to what people feel on the kind of public service he had given us during his tenure?

Cong. Abercrombie response was so simple and I like it, "Mayor Hanneman said he listened to what the people of Hawaii were telling him, all I can say I listened to them and what they wanted is CHANGE!"

The mistake that the complacent democrats had on the race for the Congressional seat that GOP won last week was a major one; as Rep. Charles Djou won over two Dems last Saturday. That was a huge mistake! As in I could hear President Obama's ouch from Washington all the way here.

Well, for the DEMS, especially Hawaii chapter, here's a question for you guys to ponder: is there really a need to come up with two candidates instead of one? Responsible parties should think too long because, time is of the essence and don't be selfish! I hope that the party would be completely united and could come up with the strong consensus that is really good for everybody. Good luck!
