What's Wrong? My View on World Problems
I Think I'm Too Young to Be Thinking About This Kind of Stuff
So, here I am, willing to take my PRECIOUS (but with no monetary value) time to list off the things that are topics for controversy, and my opinion on what the solutions should be.
Rising Gas Prices: They affect us all.
They truly do. I myself drive a 2004 Toyota Solara V6. Yes, a V6. I get around 16-17 miles to the gallon on every gas I pump into my painstakingly red car. I myself don't drive as often as much as you people out there, who have to commute several times a day on a regular basis just to scrape together the day's plate of mash and biscuits for dinner, but I also feel the pain. I once believed as a kid that 40 dollars was a wondrous amount of money to possess, but now it has become my weekly fee for required transportation. The solution is quite obvious; start investing into other channels of transportation, such as PUBLIC transportation. For around a dollar, I can get a ride, albeit longer, around the entire city! BART is even more convenient, whizzing me along the Bay in a manner of minutes. By golly, I'll buck up and take a seat next to the freak on the bus (there's always one, isn't there?) who dressed himself up as a cowboy as if it was the most natural dress set in the world if it meant that I would save money in the long run. Or go buy a hyrbrid Prius. They're actually quite nice, besides the whole 70 horsepower thing. But unless you plan on burning rubber in a desperate attempt to cling onto your fleeting moments of youth by putting the gas down on some Asian kids with souped up import cars on the freeway, then that shouldn't really matter. Personally, I'm going to wait till 2008 for one of those new Prius's; rumor has it that they can go 100 mpg. I'll kill 25 llamas, rip out their hearts, and feed them to little kids under the tutelage of the devil himself for 100 mpg.
Violence Is On The Rise; I Really Don't Want To Die.
Hey, I don't want to die either, but violence has always been around us. Wasn't this country FOUNDED on violence? Isn't this country still attempting to meet all its demands THROUGH violence? Violence is here to stay, folks, and I hope you would all realize it sooner or later. I'm pretty sure Ghandi gypsy-slapped someone in his life time for poking fun at his girl-like skinny hips and calling him a "statement whore" (I know it sounds far-fetched and might be completely untruthful to the wonderful humanitarian Ghandi truly was, but please don't ruin my fantasy). At one point in time, you also probably committed an act of violence against one person or another, and even if you felt guilt over it, you probably don't anymore. Yes, yes, violence is biased and completely unneeded in our land, but you'll never completely wipe away one of the most natural aspects that the human race embraces. Violence is a endlessly recursive cycle, the key is just to keep a watchful eye out whenever that cycle nears you, so you can gracefully and quickly step out of it's way. The recent V-Tech shooting has caused numerous outbursts on the rise of violence among teenagers, the mind state of Americans today, and the moral decay of humans. But let's get serious here. Take away all the fancy words and details, take away the professional explanations, take away your own detailed and credible opinions, and listen to mine. The guy was just pissed off. Now, his level of "pissed off" was obviously on a higher level than any of ours ever will, but he, most simply put, was just "pissed off". Pissed off at this world, his social network, the forsaking of his identity, whatever it was, it just pissed him off enough to go out and commit those atrocious crimes. Some people just have less tolerance than others when it comes to their anger threshold. If you are one of these people, I seriously advise you to do the following steps. 1) Turn off this computer. 2) Go outside, enjoy the fresh air, take a walk. 3) Go to your nearest gaming retailer and buy a Nintendo Wii 4) If you actually manage to find a Wii, go buy Wii Sports or something and take a break, it's funner than it looks. Sounds silly, but the concept of going out and doing something so simple and fun will take quite the load off of your shoulder's, even if its only for a few minutes, but isn't a few minutes enough to realize and appreciate the wonderful things this world has to offer?
* I would like to add that this might also be a dangerous idea, because the notion of even buying, much less finding, a Wii is so difficult that you might want to go out and commit a few murders. Do so at your own risk.
I wrote very little this time around, but don't worry, this is a continuing list of things that I have already outlined in my head. Feel free to comment on me and give me feedback. Also, tell me what you think is wrong with the world today and what your solutions are, I probably have my own opinions on them as well. I'm just that cynical, I guess.
Stay updated for Part 2! I guarantee it'll make you want to bash your head into your monitor!
