You will need:
100g 70% cocoa plain chocolate
75 diced butter, plus a little extra for greasing
225g golden caster sugar
150g ground sifted almonds
grated zest and juice of one orange
6 medium eggs
Greaseproof paper
Strawberries and/or raspberries (optional)
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees (check the handbook for fan assisted ovens)
Grease and line an 8 inch spring form cake tin.
Melt the chocolate and butter in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering water. Remove the bowl and allow to cool
Mix the eggs and sugar with an electric whisk until the mixture is thick and foamy, add the almonds orange zest and juice to the mixture and fold with a metal spoon.
Pour two thirds of the mixture into the tin, add the melted chocolate and butter to the mixture and fold it together.
Add this to the tin and swirl it round until it creates a marbled effect, bake for between 50 minutes to an hour.
Allow to cool in the tin, then remove and slice. Serve with strawberries and/or raspberries (if required)
