When I Am Gone - A Poem

Roni ODonnell
When I am gone
will you know?
when I am gone
will it show?

Memories are
what's left of me.
Thoughts of past
meant to see.

Are they happy,
are they sad?
When I am gone
will you be glad?

I wish that now
was time for me
When I am gone
that can not be.

I wonder often
what's the cause
for just a visit
that you pause

My heart then aches
for you should know
the pain to be with
you does show.

I only ask
for a moment or two
it that so tough
for you to do?

So when I'm gone
don't shed a tear
You had no time
when I was here.

I agree with Betty. I don't know who doesn't stop by, what specific your poem addresses...but the feeling of being ignored and not given "enough time" is one many can relate to.
