Eight geeks are paired up with eight beauties and are forced to overcome objectives in order to prevail to each round. This show is extremely interesting as it follows stereotypes that have plagued life for centuries. The beauties (ladies in red) face challenges of setting aside their looks and relying on their education to aide the team.
The geeks (shy guys) have to fine-tune their intellectual struggles in order to co-exist with their environments. As the show progresses each round, one team is eliminated and forced to pack up and leave. Upon each teams struggle for the spotlight lies deceit, betrayal, victory and failure. Thus with many reality TV shows, one team will emerge victorious as the others plummet to their misfortune.
In contrast to being just another socially stereotypical reality show, Beauty and the Geek is a positive learning experience for both Beauty and Geek. Throughout the experience Beauty is expected to discover real beauty in thy heart. She also must overcome her habits of simply getting by just off her looks; the combination of appeal and brains is a rare find indeed. At times she may be asked to read, study, recall social events and become capable to hold a socially intelligent conversation. As for the Geek, he is forced to overcome his intellectual difficulties and "loosen up" more to those around him. He must also learn that it's okay to be fearful sometime and not always allow fear to discourage him from proceeding in something. Lastly, he has to understand that not every person he meets will show interest in the same hobbies as himself. In the end, both parties must learn to work together, motivate each other and set aside their differences. Beauty and the Geek is the perfect imbalance for audiences
to enjoy.
For geeks who watch this at home, this show can be a life changing experience.
Yes, you're right. That could be you! You could very well be on that show with all those beautiful women, TV exposure and acclaim that you dream of. It just goes to show that although we shy guys sometimes feel inferiority; we don't have to if we don't want. Effort is everything and if more effort is distributed into what we desire, the sky can be the limit. As for the beauties at home, young women learn that in life beauty is the easy part. But just as simple as it is given, it can easily be taken away. The developing broadcast teaches the importance of acceptance, value of learning, commitment and teamwork.
Beauty and The Geek is aired on the WB Network on Wednesdays at 8pm/ET under the banner of executive producers Ashton Kutcher & Nick Santora. If you or somebody you know is interested in applying for this show, please visit the following link,
