When My Blinders Fell Off!

Blinders, they can be the best or the worst thing to have. It all depends on your situation in life. Some of us wear them on purpose to shield us from those things that we aren't ready to face right now. While, there's others who wear the blinders and don't even know it. Those unfortunate souls have been swayed by others for someone else's benefit. Or, because of their career or life situation the blinders sort of morphed onto their face. And, finally there are those brave souls that live life with their eyes wide open.

For me, most of my life I had blinders on. And, the scary thing about it is that I didn't know that they were on until a few months ago. I'm still not sure if they morphed onto my face or one day when I was very young a bunch of people jumped me from behind, knocked me out and sewed the blinders to my face.

So, what made my blinders fall off? Major life changes started to peel the blinders off and forced me to open my eyes and to keep them open. These life changes were no fault of my own but as a result made me find out more about myself and others around me. I needed to know where I stood in order to know where I was going. I'm still on a forward path but at least I don't have blinders on anymore. I'm better off without them.

Do you know if you have blinders on? Are you a workaholic and can't remember the last day you took off? Career blinders will stop you from seeing whats going on with your spouse, children and family. Are you on someones bandwagon? Group blinders are common. Make sure you are a part of that group for the right reasons not for someone else. Relationship blinders are the worst. That's were that old saying" Love is blind" comes from. Always remember, actions speak louder than words. Watch what others do and the way that they do things. You will see the truth sooner or later.

It's better to live your life with open eyes. Each one of us will take our blinders off when we are ready and hopefully not forced to take them off. If you choose to keep them on it may because someone or a group of people are protecting you from life truths. Sometimes that can be a great thing too.
